Fall season is quickly approaching. This Thursday (October 6th) we are supposed to have below freezing temperatures for the first time since last spring so we are reminded that our shirt-sleeve weather is drawing to a close very fast.
Production is slower than normal because some of the men are still in the fields doing farm work. We are noticing a slowdown in sales compared to last year; but, we understand the housing market has leveled off too. It is all due to the recession. Hopefully the recession will be short lived and we can all get by without much financial pain.
Several of us from TrailManor attended the largest RV Dealer Show on earth in Elkhart, Indiana, the last week of September. The numbers in attendance were down from prior years and we heard that some of the manufacturers are laying off some of their shifts. Even with that, there were a lot of vendors at the show and we were able to search out possibilities for new materials and appliances for TrailManor. We also visited with our dealers who were there and with other dealers who may be interested to include TrailManor in their inventory. Actually, it was a good time to network along with good speakers, special meetings, awards etc. (See photos below) Then, as with any trip, it was good to be home again.
Right now, our Jewish friends are observing Yom Kippur. On October 10th many will observe Columbus Day; here in South Dakota we will celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day commemorating the earliest inhabitants. October is also Halloween month and there is a reported scare of fentanyl being disguised as candy – so beware!
Until next month, enjoy the mix of warm days and chilly days!
